Our client is Yasmin Amirah a 16 year old singer/ songwriter that mainly appeals to the RnB genre
In our video we plan to use different locations, one of them will be a white bedroom with fairy lights. In this scene the dominant shot type will be extreme close ups and we will be using soft focus to film the lights.
Also we will use extreme slow motion to film the feathers dropping as our video is going to be a conceptual/narrative video
The next location will be London. This will be contrasting going from light to dark and day to night time. We will also film crowded places then lonely places we want to create a clear contrast in the video to get the message across that the star in text is lonely
The narrative goes along the lines of a young girl waking up in her bedroom travelling out into London for the day upset and alone even though people surround her and at the end she finds her ‘love’. The conceptual reading of this is that the feathers are always falling throughout the video and the last shot we plan to use is the feathers finally hitting the floor.
We have discussed intertextual references and information on our blog but we feel like we want to recreate the edit that made in Chelsea uses because we listened to the song and thought of this as a editing technique. Also ghost the film because we want the character to be confused between reality and dream state.
Our artist has 2,237 followers on twitter so isn’t very well known this makes her a good choice for us to use because we can package and brand her in our own way and give her a particular image that we think would work well.
Our intertextual references will be related to the film Ghost, as we are using editing techniques to make our star in text appear as a ghost. This will make the video hyper real. The lighting and soft focus we are going to use will be similar to the camera editing in Made in Chelsea. As the programme is shot in London, it is a good way of how we can also film the city. Existing music videos that we have taken inspiration from is Ed Sheerans 'give me love' for the narrative element of our video. Similar to this our character will be a lonely angel, who guides people to their loved one. Similar shots for the bedroom scene, are interpreted from Shontelles 'T-shirt', and Miley Cyrus' 'Adore You' videos. Both use a lot of white editing. Another video, which uses lens flares to make a halo effect is Britney Spears' 'Every time'.
Well presented, though I think without a vocal explanation you are not really pitching effectively enough to explain your decisions & intentions, only presenting your plan. What aspects of Made in Chelsea will I see for instance and why?
ReplyDeleteWho are the target audience male/fem? age/subculture? why will this appeal to them? What Image does this give your artists - how are you rebranding them?
This make me suspicious there are gaps in your understanding. Address and Improve before you proceed with any further planning.
