Contact with Artist

We found our unsigned artist through Twitter, and mutual friends. As she is local Yasmin, was the most convenient artist to use. These are our first emails between us and her, discussing the terms and conditions of the video. She gave us permission to use her original song "Subtle".

Gaga Album Cover

To complete this we used photoshop. We cut out the glasses from the original cover and cropped and then pasted it around the picture of Morgan wearing sunglasses. We had to transform the adjustments to fit the glasses and widen Morgan's head.

Digipacks

The digipack for this music video is very professional and the lip syncing is almost completely accurate, the look and image of the person in the video fits the rap/hip-hop genre. Although the other artwork for the album cover is not as clear in showing this genre it still has a professional look.

Overall all taking into consideration the whole campaign i feel like this video and digipack are more successful in creating brand and identity because there is a very clear rock/metal genre and the album cover suggests this as well. The video is not as professionally shot as the other one but this campaign has been more successful in giving a genre and image.

Low A

Goodwin's Analysis

Michael Jackson's "thriller" is very famous for creating the narrative music video. It involves what is commonly used in films, for example a love interest who is sexualised in parts of the film. "Thriller" is the genre of the narrative as well as the song linking the two. The video is very long as there is an introduction with dialogue before the actual song begins.

Ed Sheerans "drunk" video is a performance video. It shows him interacting with his audience showing the relationship they have which gives him a positive review for his concerts. The music is not in sync with him in the video which may be because of the title drunk so it is not clear. The shots are very fast paced and have quick cuts to suggest the atmosphere at his performances.

The clips used in Vance joys "rip tide" make it a conceptual video. The clips are relative to the lyrics but are not in sync with it. The woman shown singing the song is irrelevant as it is a male artists song. A lot of the clips as well as linking to the lyrics have other meanings depending on people's interpretations.

Sub culture-

Definition- a smaller group of people with similar beliefs and interests within a large culture however are more specific and varied.
