Goodwin's Analysis

Michael Jackson's "thriller" is very famous for creating the narrative music video. It involves what is commonly used in films, for example a love interest who is sexualised in parts of the film. "Thriller" is the genre of the narrative as well as the song linking the two. The video is very long as there is an introduction with dialogue before the actual song begins.

Ed Sheerans "drunk" video is a performance video. It shows him interacting with his audience showing the relationship they have which gives him a positive review for his concerts. The music is not in sync with him in the video which may be because of the title drunk so it is not clear. The shots are very fast paced and have quick cuts to suggest the atmosphere at his performances.

The clips used in Vance joys "rip tide" make it a conceptual video. The clips are relative to the lyrics but are not in sync with it. The woman shown singing the song is irrelevant as it is a male artists song. A lot of the clips as well as linking to the lyrics have other meanings depending on people's interpretations.
